Queen's Unite for Child Abuse Prevention Month |

Crown Me Productions Announces
Pageant Queens from across US show support to local organization
Galena, Kansas –Crown Me Productions announced today that a network of pageant queens
from across the United States, came together through the internet to spread awareness of Child Abuse Prevention and to support
a local organization.
Members of the Achievement Queens and Delta Nu Pageant Sorority,
two internet groups, came together to address Child Abuse Prevention. The group also showed support to a local organization
in their efforts to deal with the aftermath of child abuse. The Queen's collected items for the Children's Center
of Southwest Missouri. Twenty-two Queens from 17 states participated in the effort to provide donations of
money and other items to the center. Two local members of the group(s), Carrie Neet and A.L. Chubb, from SE Kansas, made
delivery of the items on Wednesday, which included over 100 stuffed animals, video and audio tapes, coloring books, crayons,
children's books and more.
The Children's Center is a child advocacy center, that provides a child-friendly, safe
setting in which multidisciplinary teams can conduct investigations of alleged child abuse. Children’s Center is a not-for-profit
agency which serves southwest Missouri children who are severely physically abused or sexually abused. Children’s Center staff also offer advocacy, referrals and prevention education.
April
is Child Abuse Prevention month. This years theme is Safe Children and Healthy Families are a Shared Responsibility.
The month of April
is devoted to celebrating everything we do to transform our community into a place that cares about - and actively supports
- families and children. By ensuring that all parents in our community have access to quality childcare, affordable
health services, parenting education resources, and substance abuse and mental health programs, we make progress toward what
the month stands for.
The majority of child abuse cases stem from situations and conditions that are entirely preventable
in an engaged and supportive community. A community that cares about early childhood development, parent support and
maternal mental health, for instance, is more likely to see families nurturing children who are born healthy and enter school
ready to learn. Cities and towns that work to create good school systems and who come together to ensure that affordable
housing is available in good, safe neighborhoods are less likely to see stressed, isolated families who don't know where to
turn.
Child Abuse Prevention Month is about connecting all of these dots so that the solutions to child
abuse receive the attention the public craves. In a recent poll, 89% of ?Americans reported that child abuse was a "very
important" more issue to them (Scripps Survey Research Center Ohio University, Feb 2005). But it's not enough to care
about the problem and address its consequences. We have to pay attention to the kinds of efforts that will prevent it
from happening in the first place. So this April, learn more about what you and your community can do to support child
abuse prevention. It's a shared responsibility and we're stronger together. |

“In his
2002 State of the Union Address, President George W. Bush created the USA Freedom Corps, and called on every American to make
a lifelong commitment to volunteer service. The President’s
Volunteer Service Award recognizes individuals and families who have answered that call,” said David Chubb owner of Crown Me Productions.
“America’s volunteers
work to make our communities stronger and safer. As a Certifying Organization for the Award
program, Crown Me Productions is proud to be aligned with this prestigious volunteer award, and we are especially proud
of our volunteers who have made volunteer service a central part of their lives.”
The President’s Volunteer Service Award is an award for volunteer service that every American –
from every age and every walk of life – can aspire to achieve. To be eligible
to receive the Award, individuals, families and groups submit a record of their
annual volunteer service hours to participating Certifying Organizations, such as Crown Me Productions, that will verify
the service and deliver the Award. Award
eligibility for individuals and groups is based on hour requirements varying by age.
“These recipients of
the President’s Volunteer Service Award are role models for all Americans,”
David Chubb said. “Each volunteer hour contributed makes a difference
in improving the quality of life for others, and I encourage everyone to contribute to our community by volunteering. Volunteers bring us closer together as families, as communities and as a Nation, through
their commitment.”
The Award is issued by the President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation, a group created by
President Bush to recognize the valuable contributions volunteers are making to our Nation.
Chaired by two-time Super Bowl Champion Darrell Green, with former U.S. Senators Bob Dole and John Glenn as honorary
co-chairs, the Council comprises leaders in government, media, entertainment, business, education, nonprofits and volunteer
service organizations, and community volunteering.
